Alert to the Public - Jury Duty Scam

Individuals in our community have been receiving calls from a number starting with 559.823.XXXX.  The callers are misrepresenting themselves by stating they are with the Madera County Sheriff's Department.  During these fraudulent calls, individuals are told that they failed to appear for jury duty, and then are asked to 'verify' personal information.

Please note that the Madera County Superior Court and the Madera County Sheriff's Office are not making such calls; therefore, the public is advised to use caution and not provide any personal/financial information if contacted.
