Madera Superior Court Announces Opening of New Courtroom on August 3, 2026

July 31, 2026 New Courtroom & Changing of Select Department Numbers

The Madera County Superior Court is pleased to announce the opening of a newly constructed courtroom on the 3rd floor of the courthouse.  The new courtroom, which opens on August 3, 2026, is designated as Department 37 and will house family law cases.

Other facility/department changes include: 

  • Department 29 is now Department 24 and remains in the same location on the 2nd floor of the courthouse.  
  • Department 38 on the 3rd floor will now house the criminal cases that were once heard in Department 45.
  • Civil cases previously heard in the Temporary Remote Department will move to Department 44.
  • Civil cases previously heard in Department 44 will move to Department 45.
  • Mandatory Settlement Conferences will now be held in Department 45.
